Critics United? Now, that's a throwback!-Also, adults bullying kids!

Some of you, youngins, might not know who these people are. Just us old folks who had their start on FFN, which has been in a long-welcomed decline. I won't talk about my past fics on here mainly because they were God awful and not Fairy Tail, so not relevant. I never had a run in with CU (I am aware of what that means in Portuguese, so I'll use it because it's so fitting) thankfully, but I know many who weren't as lucky. Okay, CU was the moral police of FFN. FFN has some pretty weird rules about pretty harmless fics like no second pov, no audience interaction, no script fics, and no song lyrics. It's pretty dumb all in all. These were harmless. Admittedly, I could understand fics that were smut/spicy especially if they contained non-con or anything underaged. There was a separate site called Adult Fanfiction. Net for that and other sites as well. But song lyrics? Come on that's harmless. It should be noted that a lot of fics that including stuff like song lyri...

Confession: Despite writing fanfiction, I actually don't read it.

Yes, I know it's strange, but a fanfic author who doesn't read fanfiction? Odd, isn't it? All my books are pretty much published works. I don't even read wattpad. Let me explain, when I first got into Fairy Tail, I tried to read Fairy Tail fanfiction, and honestly, I wasn't impressed by what I saw. I just couldn't get over how grossly out of character they were, with little respect to the original intent. Like I saw so many playboy Natsu fics? Like what? I now understand that Natsu is possibly a little more pervy than he lets on. Mainly to Lucy. Well, pretty much just Lucy, but even then, that's far from a playboy. But regardless, I just didn't like just how OOC so much of it was. I just couldn't read anymore. In the end, I realized if I wanted to read the Fairy Tail fanfiction I wanted to read.... I have to do it myself! So, yeah, that's why I started fanfic partly. Because nothing I read in FT fanfiction was interesting to me personally. One of...

Nosferatu (1922) one of my all time favorite movies, and I can't explain why.

Image
Personally, I prefer the soundtrack of the one on tubi, but this is okay too. Tubi is a free streaming service that has tons of classic movies.  Nosferatu is easily one of my all time favorite movies. There is just something about this movie I love-the horror, atmosphere, sense of uneasiness, and just the mystery of it all. With the film being as old as it is, there is something almost surreal about it. Almost like a vampire itself when compared to the behind scenes stuff of modern movies. I just love this film and have watched it multiple times. I'm a fan of classic movies. I have recently gotten into silent films which are big on tubi. They have a great (1925) Phantom Of The Opera that is partly colorized and has it's own soundtrack which I also love. I just love epic silent movies with great soundtracks-especially silent gothic and horror films. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is also another that left an impression. I just feel that silent horror films have their own unique ...

I'm still here, and I'm hoping to start writing again soon.

I feel guilt for not writing, but things haven't been good for me mentally between my dad's passing, and just issues with stress from other factors in real life, and anxiety in general. My anxiety has been through the roof lately. I've been overeating, oversleeping, unmotivated, and unable to even enjoy my hobbies like writing or reading.  I just go to work and then go home and lie around and do nothing. I tend to be a person that thrives on being busy and active, so that's very unusual for me. People in my life have been concerned over me. So, I guess I have strong depression along with anxiety. I go see the doctor this week, I'll be honest with what's been going on. I hate to say it, but I might need a medication change. I'm not handing my depression and anxiety well at all. I miss my dad.

I think for the time being I'll focus more on "Fairy Tails For Every Child" instead of Event Horizon.

In case you didn't know, I'm still dealing with my dad's death, and FTFEC is just so much more light hearted and easier to write right now. I'm just being more drawn towards it. I do want to get back to EH. But right now, I just don't want to put myself into that darker headspace of the world of EH. I hope that makes sense. But don't worry EH fans, I do intend to continue it, but right now I need more of an escape than the harsh bleakness of reality feel that I try to give EH.  Right now, I just don't want to put myself in a darker headspace than needed. So, for this moment, FTFEC is my main focus.

'Abandon Thought And Let The Dream Descend' Platonic crush on Sierra Boggess

I love this scene in the Albert Royal Hall DVD. The music and singing are amazing, as are the costumes and set design. But to me the most memorizing thing of all is Sierra. She's so gorgeous. I just can't stop staring at her when I watch this part of the DVD/Musical.  Yeah, I have a total platonic crush on her. I just love looking at her. Can you blame Erik? 😉

The Origins Of "Fairy Tails For Every Child"

This is a post about my inspirations that got me to write "Fairy Tails For Every Child.' Before I was a hardcore Fairy Tail geek, I was a hardcore fairy TALE geek.  I love fairy tales, absolutely love them, and have always had a huge fascination with them. I love folklore and mythology as well. I have researched and read so many books with and about fairy tales. Including non-fiction works. As a child, I was a big fan of Disney (Though I admit I'm still kind of a Disney adult) and I loved their princess fairy tale movies the best. (Though I also love movies like 'Treasure Planet' 'Lady And The Tramp' "Robin Hood'. and "Great Mouse Detective')  and as a result I developed a fascination with them. My fascination didn't end with princesses. I was also fascinated with fairy tales in general, and I watched the show "Fairy Tales For Every Child" (Where I got the title for my fic) on HBO Kids all the time. As I got older, I discover...
